I’m often asked why I run and the simple answer is, I enjoy challenging myself. My journey as a runner started when I was in junior high school. I started running track because I didn’t think I could make the baseball team. It was the first time I had follow a structured running plan. Our practices consisted of a lot of the same types of workout that are popular today. Tempo runs, long runs and Fartleks. I didn’t realize it then but at thirteen years old I was learning how to train and prepare my body for a lifetime of benefits.
Running has provided me with more than a means for improving my physical being. It has provided me with a way to free my mind from everything else that is going on in my life. That is why I chose Fitness Escape for the name of this blog. Because all fitness can be an escape.
